Notes on attire

Boys must report in the specified attire (Full Uniform.), which must be clean, neat and polished (where applicable).

Boys must also report in proper haircut, which is defined as hair that is not artificially coloured, and does not touch the ears, eyebrows and collar.

Fingernails must also be short and clean.

Ensure you have your 3 x Stage 2 including Drill 2.
Your Course Company and squad numbers will be made known to you on reporting.
Please bring along the items as detailed below.
There will be a written assessment for all trainees. Please re-familiarise yourself with the basic BB knowledge that can be found in pages 7-11 and page 27 of the Seniors Programme Handbook for Boys (Feb 2005) as well as lessons on LDC I.
In addition, you will also be assessed on your performance as the Camp by all trainers.

Equipment list

Identity card (NRIC, school ID or ezlink card)
Sufficient money for your travelling
Sufficient change of clothes (including 1 extra set of Blue BB Polo T-shirt)
Track shoes with socks
Toiletries and slippers
Poncho
Backpack or field pack, with identification tag
Water bottle (at least 1.5 litres)
Torch light with spare batteries
Insect Repellent (spray/tube type)

All other personal items are optional. Handphones will not be allowed to be used during the course. Valuables are brought entirely at your own risk.

The following explain the rules as well as the procedures towards the first tourney in 79.

1) General Info

There will be 4 games in this tourney:

§ Winning 11 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2008)

§ Foosball (House rules)

§ Pool (Standard rules)

§ Mario Kart Double Dash (House rules)

Games will follow a Tournament table, on a knockout format.

Categories:

1. Singles (Male) Pool, Mario Kart

2. Singles (Female) Pool, Mario Kart

3. Singles (Open) Foosball, Mario Kart

4. Doubles (Female) Foosball, Mario Kart

5. Doubles (Male) Foosball, Mario Kart

6. Doubles (Mixed) Foosball

7. Doubles (Open) Pool, Winning 11

8. 3 man team (Open) Winning 11

For this year, only GMC youths and GMC affiliated youth may join. Affiliation refers to 1^st degree friends. The 79 team will be the deciding factor at the end of the day. GMC affiliated BB boys are welcome to join.

How to Join

Registration starts 1^st June
Fill in the form (online or hardcopy) and pass it back to the 79 team, or to Amias directly.
Seeding and placing will occur in the following weeks
Play will start once there is sufficient teams. Additional entrants will be placed in over the following weeks, ending 15^th June, where registration will end.
All rounds will continue till 4^th July, where all final games must be played. Grace period will last till the 6^th July.
The finals will occur on 11^th July, evening. (6pm to 10pm)

How to play

Once the tournament tables are drawn up, play begins.
Participants are expected to arrange their own games with their opponents, and update the tournament boards in 79
The 79 team will inform participants of their next match.

Rules:

1) Fair play!

2) Be courteous!

3) Be excited

§ As this is the first time 79 is holding the tournament, do give us grace as we work out the kinks in the system.

§ Note: Cheating complaints will be taken very seriously. In the event of a dispute, judges decision is final.

To Win: Best of 3 rounds

How to play:

Poke the white ball with the pointy stick to knock the other balls into the holes.

Rules:

Coin toss, winner breaks; alternate on the next round
Standard pool rules/fouls
One rail (the side of the table), or foul
Jump balls are allowed
Foul = Ball in hand for opponent
Called shots; 'tyco' shots do not maintain possession

House Rules: Foosball

To Win: Best of 3 rounds

How to play:

Get the ball into your opponent's goal! First to 10 points wins!

Rules:

Coin toss, winner decides side and starts the ball; alternate on the next round
On a new ball play, the ball must touch the opposite end of the table before play commences
No spinning of rods! A spin shot that scores does not count; a repeat offence results in a penalty.
The ball must be kicked in. (a new ball that finds its way into a goal on its own, does not count.)
In the event where the ball cannot be reached by either side, and is not firmly set in either defensive side; the side which was last scored against starts a new ball play.
In the event where the ball is stuck in either side's defensive area, the defense can choose to prod (or blow) the ball, or to start a new ball play.
If a ball goes out of play, the side last scored against starts a new ball play.

To Win: Win the match. Matches are in 10 min halves.

Rules:

Coin toss, winner decides on controllers.
Identical teams may be chosen.
Any foul play (in real life) witnessed be a third party, will result in immediate disqualification.

House Rules: Mario Kart

To Win: Score system. 4 rounds

Score per rnd	4	3	2	1

Rules:

Choice of characters and kart proceeds by age, from the youngest to the oldest.
Players choose one character first till all players have chosen, then chooses the 2^nd character and the kart.
Choice of map to race on proceeds by age, from oldest to youngest.
Mark the scores on the scoresheet in 79
The finals will consist of the top 4 scorers across all boards

3rd November Leadership Development Course 2 Trainer's Course

Thank you for agreeing to assist as Assistant Trainers for the upcoming Leadership Development Course 2 in November and December. We hope that you will have an enriching and enjoyable time with the other Boys over the LDC 2 weekend.

27th-30th October, Saturday-Tuesday, Adventure Camp 2007

Dear Parent/Guardian/BB Boys and Officers,
The Boys' Brigade, 30th Singapore Company (30th Coy) in Bukit Merah Secondary School is organising an Leadership Adventure Camp at the Grace Methodist Church and Pulau Ubin for all members of the 30th Coy. This Camp aims to provide the boys an opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills learnt.
Refer to your consent form for the timing and scheduling for the camp activities. You may want to update the item list on the form here as they may be some incorrect information in the consent forms for the list of items to bring.
This are the compulsory items

Sleeping Bag (Buy or borrow)
Backpack (No luggage or trolley)
Clothes (Minimum 3 sets of PT kit. 2 other clean T-Shirts, clean undergarment)
1 set of church attire
Track shoes (MUST !!), 1 Pair of sandal or slippers, 3 pairs of socks
Stationery (note pad, pens, markers)
EZ-Link card
Towel, soap, shampoo, baby powder,
Toilet paper (No sharing)
2 Bottles of 1.5 litres of water
Plastic bags (To waterproof stuff)
Torch Light + Batteries
1 mess tin (Provided)
Cutley (Spoon + fork)
Mosquito repellent
Food (Instant noodles + Can food)
Puncho (Desposible raincoat)
